<<Crane, Roosted on Sacred Mountain, Takes Flight<<

With Dragon being pushed out of their lands by Horse, Scorpion taking advantage of the absent Crane, Spider attempting a comeback from terrible catastrophe, and Mantis riding high on doubled strength and numbers, a war between the clan’s broke out. The last in the line of Moon over Plains Emperors, died on his throne, and none recognized the heir. The fighting destroyed what glory was left in the Imperial delta, and stretched even thinner what limited resources were left in this time of trouble. After years of battle, the 4 daimyos of the 4 warring clans met at the heads of 4 great armies, in the Imperial Throne room. A battle would surely have meant destruction for all. Instead, a battle of wits and wisdom ensued. The armies camped down for 3 months as the daimyos tried to establish a clear victor. As the battle drew on, the 4 saw the strength of their parts, as well as their whole. The battle ended with the 4 great clans deciding on split rulership of the empire, with no one Emperor to rule over the land. This arrangement, while tenuous, ended the second great Clan War.
