Bushido is the collection of tenets a person of the samurai caste must follow to be honorable. Those tenets are:
A samurai must never show fear. He must not flinch when committing any act commanded by his lord. Even if ordered to his death, a samurai will not shirk his duty.
A samurai must do everything he is commanded by a superior. Always. No quibbling. Including ritual suicide. And if your lord thinks you are a coward or just doesn’t like you, he may give you a semi-sharpened wooden sword to kill yourself with.
A samurai must be forthright in all things. When you fight, fight with all you have. When you practice, practice entirely. Your lord expects you to be able to fight and comport yourself well. Do both these things as best you possibly can, with all your heart behind them.
